Gaetana’s Obituary
Gaetana Lenore Roush (nee Gross) 69, passed away at her home in Tonawanda, New York, October
21, 2023. She was born November 26, 1953 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Gaetana was a creative, hilarious,
and creative soul with a knack for turning strangers into honorary members of her extended family.
Gae loved gardening, cooking, art, caring for her feline family, and adding a little spice to any
situation. She was undeterred by her Parkinson's diagnosis. She jumped into a therapeutic boxing
routine and created another branch of her extended family with her rehab community.

Gaetana is survived by her siblings, Eric (Wendy), Nannette, Heidi, Stepmother Barbara, and
Stepsister Sheri (Tom). Gaetana will be remembered by her nieces and nephews Arthur, Elizabeth,

Madeline, Camille, Hans, Francis, Shoshanna, Elena, and Olivia, their spouses, and her great-
grandnieces, Elvira, Emilia, and Koda. She also leaves her adoptive Western New York family, her

various work family members, and her best friend, Grace Norman.

Gaetana joins her parents, Antoinette Aloy, Arthur Gross, Sr., stepsister Lori Gelormino, and her
feline family members in the great beyond.

Gaetana studied at Staatsburg Elementary School, F.D. Roosevelt HS, and Dutchess Community
colllege. As an ever-curious person, Gaetana was an autodidact in various subjects, including
cooking, spices, and jewelry making, to name a few. Her employment included Hengerers
Department Store, M & T Bank, and the Frontier Fire Company, as well as owning the 'Spice of Life
Emporium.'

She was unabashedly herself, unafraid to take risks and see the bright side of life, even if it came
with a bit of sarcasm. Her unforgettable energy and perseverance were gifts inherited from her
parents. Though her friends and family will sorely miss her rebellious spirit and infectious laughter,
her energy will continue to be felt and live on through her far-reaching network of family and
friends.

Gaetana's life will be celebrated later (TBD) in Western New York, where her memory will be
honored with laughter, joy, and storytelling.
