Waltraud E. (Witt) Riemer

Waltraud E. Riemer, 91, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 17th, 2024 in Hamburg, NY. Waltraud was born on June 20th, 1932 to Georg and Walli Witt in Stettin, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1952. A dedicated homemaker, Waltraud took great pride in keeping a well-ordered and efficient household and loved to spend time at afternoon kaffeeklatsch with her neighbors and family. Always generous with her time and resources, she not only crafted many outfits for her children and grandchildren but also taught them her skills in sewing, knitting, and crochet. Family and friends all enjoyed her signature German dishes including apfelkuchen and rouladen.

Waltraud leaves behind daughters Viola (James) Bollin and Christiane (James) Greenzweig; grandchildren Felicia, Marisa, Evan (Nicole), Kyle, Kirsten, and Greta; sister Marianne Crook; brother Fred (Judy) Witt; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands Willie Kater, Frank Vastola, and Egon Riemer; grandson Brent; sisters Rita Zannoni and Renate Alix; nephew Jeffrey Crook; and niece Penny Warnke.

Waltraud was loved by all and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on April 20that 11AM at the John O. Roth Funeral Home in Tonawanda, NY.
